Lachlan Swain, Director
Lachlan has been around trucks since before he could walk. He completed his apprenticeship through Cummins Tamworth, before working at Cummins Dubbo for a number of years. He was promoted to Head Mechanic early in his career.
Lachlan’s passion for his mechanical trade led him to establish LAS Mechanical & Transport in 2013. He spent the first 6 months working out of his field service ute, before moving into a rented premises and then purchasing LAS Mechanical’s current Brocklehurst premises in 2018. Lachlan has grown the business from sole trader to a company employing two mechanics, Josh and Jack, as well as himself and his wife Georgia.
You would be hard pressed to find anyone who shares Lachlan’s level of enthusiasm for trucks, and Cummins engines in particular.
When he’s not busy fixing trucks, he’s at home with his young family - fixing toys that his kids are very good at breaking!
Georgia Swain, Partner and Office Manager
Georgia has been involved with LAS Mechanical in the background since its beginnings in 2013. She joined the team in an official capacity in 2019. Her career background is in marketing, however her current roles include administration, accounting, HR and many other odd jobs that pop up.
Georgia’s main skill is organisation. She is a planner, a list maker and a stickler for deadlines. She is always looking for ways to streamline processes to increase efficiency, and implementing fresh ideas in the office.
When she’s not in the LAS office, she’s busy taking care of three young children, listening to country music while cooking up a storm, buried in a book or racking up kilometres on the treadmill.
Josh Lawrence, Leading Hand
Josh joined LAS Mechanical in 2022 and has quickly made himself an invaluable member of our team.
Josh is a capable and speedy mechanic. He completes jobs confidently and quickly, and doesn’t hesitate to bring up new ideas when they arise.
Prior to joining our team, Josh spent many years working in the mines all across Australia as well as local mechanical businesses. This career foundation has made him a hard worker who isn’t afraid of putting in overtime when it’s needed. (And it’s often needed here!)
When he’s not working, you’ll usually find Josh spending time with his young family, teaching them how to ride motorbikes or firing up the smoker or BBQ at home.
